The Desert Shrine Club recently finished and erected a new flag pole on the Orchard Avenue side of the lodge. Thank you to Noble Greg Gorham who approached the Club with placing the pole. Noble Brothers, Jim Godier and David Clark set the new flag pole on Saturday May 2. Hermiston Desert Shrine donated the project to the Lodge in celebration and a lasting symbol of Masonry in Hermiston. We’re proud to fly the American flag in our hometown on behalf of the Masons, Shrine, Scottish Rite, and Eastern Star. We hope you all enjoy it as much as we do.

The Dress-Up Parade is the unofficial start of the Pendleton Round-Up, and encourages people to dress up and have fun. The parade was held on Saturday, September 6, starting at 10:00 AM. It began at City Hall, and ended up at the Pendleton Convention Center.

There’s no specific dress code, no grand marshal and no specific theme — other than to have fun. It gives everyone in town a chance to be in a parade — just come and have fun and be in a parade. People just whoop it up and have a good time. We want people to come on down to join our parade.

Staged the weekend before rodeo action hits the arena, the event helps people get excited about Round-Up. Everything from rodeo courts to floats and marching bands join in the fun.

This year, as in years past, the Pendleton and Hermiston Desert Shrine Clubs participated in the Parade. This year, they also had East Queen Mckenzie of Enterprise riding along with them.
